No. We are happy to leave the cooler in a pre-approved, shady spot. While the coolers are a good option for keeping the food cool during transportation, they are not designed to keep the food cold for an extended period of time. We definitely recommend refrigerating the food as soon as possible after delivery. If you will not be home to receive your delivery, please fill in the box titled "Special Delivery Instructions" when completing the check out process. A 3Spoons team member will notify you through email or phone to let you know if your special delivery instructions have been approved.
If you would like to have food delivered to two different addresses you must place two separate orders. An order is complete when you proceed through the check-out procedure and click "submit order."
No. At this time you may only have one delivery address per order. You may schedule multiple deliveries for the same delivery location per order. An order is complete when you proceed through the check out process and click "submit order."
Fresh food should be promptly removed from the cooler and refrigerated after delivery. 38-40 degrees fahrenheit is the recommended temperature for storing perishable fresh food items. Frozen food items should be promptly removed from the cooler and placed in a freezer at or below 0 degrees fahrenheit after delivery. Our frozen food items can remain frozen for 2-3 months without diminishing the quality. While the frozen food items will remain safe to consume if frozen for longer than 2-3 months, it is these lengthy freezer stays that impair the food's quality.
When you receive your next delivery, the delivery person will pick-up the cooler and ice pack(s) from your previous order. If you will not be receiving a delivery from 3Spoons in the next 14 days you may send us an email to schedule a cooler pick-up. 3Spoons reserves the right to charge $45.00 fee for each cooler and ice pack(s) that are not returned to 3Spoons within 21 days of your most recent delivery.

These serving sizes are most commonly used for sides and soups. A half-pint serving is approximately 1 cup and is a great side serving for one. A one-pint serving is approximately 2 cups. This would be one hearty serving of soup or stew or would serve 2-3 people as a side dish. One quart is approximately 4 cups. This is 2-3 servings of soup or stew and 4-6 servings as a side dish.
If you are a woman trying to loose weight you may want to try the 375-500 calorie portion meals with or without the additional sides of whole grains or starches. While an active man might be most benefited by 600 calorie portion meals with an additional side of whole grains or starches. Of course, your age, exercise habits, and natural metabolism are all factors that you might want to discuss with your nutritionist when determining your personal health goals.
Family style servings are approximate serving sizes for small groups (or someone who prefers to have left-overs!) "Small" family style entrees will feed 2-3 people. "Medium" family style entrees will feed 3-4 people. "Large" family style entrees will feed 4-5 people.
Adjustments in calories are made through portion sizes.
3 Spoons entrees are lean proteins with lots of vegetables so that they are satisfying, delicious, and naturally low in calories. The meals are designed to be flavorful, filling, and low carb. But we realize this way of eating is not for everyone so we also offer side portions of rice, whole grains, potatoes, etc on the side so that you may tailor each meal to your needs.
The soup containers (round plastic tubs) may be placed in the microwave without the lid.
The plastic hinged-lid containers MAY NOT be placed in the microwave. We think the food tastes better when eaten off of a real plate! The metal bottomed containers may be placed in a conventional or microwave oven (up to 400 degrees fahrenheit WITHOUT the clear plastic lids).
All of our containers are recyclable!
We recommend eating the most perishable items such as fish, seafood, and salads first. In most cases, when properly refrigerated, menu items will last 4-5 days from delivery.
We recommend several heating methods:
Stove-top
Place contents of container (excluding ANY plastic sauce containers) in a skillet over medium heat and cover with a lid. Stir gently and occasionally until warmed through. Gently heating the food over a moderate heat while keeping it covered helps to retain the moisture and texture.
Conventional Oven
Place contents of container (excluding ANY plastic sauce containers) in an oven proof dish, covered with foil, and put into an oven preheated to 375 degrees fahrenheit. Heating times may vary.
Microwave
Place contents of container (excluding ANY plastic sauce containers) in a microwave dish and heat on high for 1-5 minutes. Heating times vary depending on the microwave.
